100 Million Americans Have Chronic Pain (And Need Proper Hydration)
Hi guys, this one is a real pain in the neck… lol
But not really funny
A new research study published in WebMD shows that about a third of all Americans suffer from pain continually.
As that number includes infants and children… I would say that leaves a great number of our older generations are in serious pain.
And it’s no laughing matter to those who are feeling agony.
Here is a brief synopsis of the article:

June 29, 2011 – More than 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain at a cost of around $600 billion a year in medical treatments and lost productivity, according to a report from the Institute of Medicine (IOM).
An IOM committee commissioned by Congress concluded that pain is not optimally managed in the U.S. and that effective treatment of chronic pain will require a coordinated national effort to transform how the public, policy makers, and health care providers view the condition.
The report included recommendations for achieving what the committee referred to as a “cultural transformation” in how Americans understand and approach pain management and prevention.
“We see that for many patients chronic pain becomes a disease in its own right,” committee chair Phillip Pizzo, MD, of Stanford University School of Medicine, said at a Wednesday news briefing. “We need to address this in a more comprehensive and interdisciplinary way and include prevention as a very important goal.”
The shortage of pain specialists in the U.S. and a poor understanding of pain by general practitioners remains a major barrier to effective pain management, Pizzo said.
This is incredibly sad news

See, the underlying root cause of chronic pain is inflammation.

That was before the 55,000 deaths became public knowledge. Before then, only MERCK and the FDA knew how bad the drug was… and they would not take it off the market because it was such a good money-maker.
I mean “hey, the commercial said it was good for me, and the FDA approved it, so it has to be good for me, right?”
And MERCK grudgingly took it off the market… despite the fact that they had killed 55,000 people and caused heart attacks in many others.
Now this information is all over the Internet… but not the next drug people will take to get their pain away.
Now, would you rather:
- take door #1 as remain in pain,
- door #2 your chances with Vioxx,
- or go with door #3 an unending supply of powerful anti-oxidant, alkaline restructured Kangen water?
I suppose that should be a no brainer… but some of us enjoy being stubborn.

So, no one wants pain.
No one wants to have a heart attack and or die because of it. So drugs are out.
Other NSAIDS like Celebrex and Bextra are just as dangerous. That is the point of the WebMD article.
The drugs are just not getting it done.
But the FDA’s solution will be more toxic drugs to kill the pain just long enough to get another prescription filled.
And that is just not good enough for me or my family.
